# Safety & Interactions

Mebendazole has a familiar non-cancer safety history, but oncology use still needs proper review because doses and combinations may differ substantially from routine anti-parasitic use.

### General tolerability

* generally well tolerated in early cancer studies
* most reported side effects have been mild to moderate
* no major high-dose toxicity signal emerged in the early Phase 2a work referenced here

### Main practical considerations

* active-treatment combinations should always be reviewed by the treating team
* liver function, full blood count, and overall treatment burden still matter in higher-dose or long-term use
* repurposed-drug use should never be treated as casual self-medication during active cancer therapy

### Clinical positioning

Mebendazole is one of the more interesting repurposed-drug candidates precisely because its safety profile is relatively familiar. But that should support supervised exploration, not unsupervised escalation.
