# Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

NSCLC is an early but increasingly interesting setting for WFA.

The strongest reasons are EMT suppression, paclitaxel synergy, and immune checkpoint sensitisation.

### Cell data

WFA suppresses `TGFβ1` and `TNFα`-driven EMT in NSCLC cell lines such as `A549` and `H1299`.

At sub-cytotoxic concentrations, it reduces adhesion, migration, and invasion without needing overt cell killing. That makes the anti-metastatic signal especially interesting.

WFA has also shown synergy with paclitaxel in NSCLC models, improving effects on proliferation and invasive behaviour.

### Animal data

The most important animal data comes from syngeneic lung cancer work. In that setting, WFA combined with anti-PD-L1 therapy reduced tumour growth more effectively than either agent alone and increased `CD8+` T-cell infiltration.

This makes NSCLC the strongest current disease setting for WFA's checkpoint-sensitisation hypothesis.

### Human data

There is no NSCLC-specific human efficacy trial yet.

### Clinical setting assessment

NSCLC remains early, but the translational logic is strong.

Because checkpoint inhibitors are already part of standard care in many lung cancer settings, WFA fits a clinically recognisable design space. That makes this disease area more interesting than its current evidence volume alone might suggest.

### Bottom line

NSCLC is not yet one of the deepest WFA evidence bases, but it may be one of the most strategically important for future combination trials.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://myhealingcommunity.gitbook.io/myhealingcommunity-docs/natural-medicines/withaferin-a-wfa-in-oncology/wfa-evidence-by-cancer-type/non-small-cell-lung-cancer.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
