# Sourcing Quality Apigenin

## Sourcing Quality Apigenin

### What makes a product legitimate

A credible apigenin product should clearly state:

* the amount of apigenin per dose in milligrams
* whether that content is standardised
* the source of the compound
* third-party testing with a batch-specific certificate of analysis

### The biggest buying mistake

The most common mistake is buying a product labelled only as chamomile extract, parsley extract, or a flavonoid complex without stating apigenin content in milligrams.

Those plants may contain apigenin, but the actual amount varies widely with growing conditions, extraction method, and processing. Without a standardised apigenin percentage and a stated milligram dose, the true intake is unknown.

A second mistake is assuming that “high flavonoid” or “high polyphenol” means high apigenin. It does not.

### Direct compound vs extract

* **Direct apigenin:** clearer dosing, easier standardisation, and closer to the form studied in the literature
* **Plant extract standardised to apigenin:** legitimate when the percentage and the actual milligram amount are clearly stated for apigenin itself
* **Unstandardised herbal extracts:** not appropriate for dose-specific integrative oncology use

### Formulation quality

* **Liposomal products:** look for technical evidence of particle size, encapsulation efficiency, and stability
* **Phospholipid complexes:** some preclinical work suggests better bioavailability than standard powder
* **Standard capsule or powder:** cheaper and widely available, but less reliable when trying to approach preclinical exposure logic

### Purity and testing

Third-party certificates of analysis should confirm:

* identity
* potency in actual milligrams per dose
* absence of contaminants such as heavy metals, microbiological contamination, and extraction solvents

Proprietary blends that do not disclose individual ingredient amounts are not appropriate for dose-specific use.

### Practical summary

* Buy products that specify apigenin in milligrams per dose.
* Confirm third-party testing with a current certificate of analysis.
* Prefer enhanced-delivery formulations when bioavailability is the main concern, but verify the formulation claim.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://myhealingcommunity.gitbook.io/myhealingcommunity-docs/natural-medicines/apigenin-in-oncology/sourcing-quality-apigenin.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
